Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Short version: FreeGB looks at the photos and videos on your phone, and, only if you connect it, your Gmail message details, to help you free up space. All of this is processed on your phone. Your photos, videos, email and anything worked out from them are never uploaded to us, and nothing is removed until you confirm. The app only uses the internet to show ads, send anonymous crash reports and usage counts, and, if you use the Gmail cleaner, to talk to Google's Gmail service directly from your phone.

1. Who we are

FreeGB (Android package com.cleanphone.mediacleaner) is made and published by Kishore Geddam, an individual developer working as Digitocity in India. "We", "us" and "the developer" in this policy mean Kishore Geddam.

For any privacy question, data request or complaint, email geddam.naidu@gmail.com.

2. What the app does on your phone

FreeGB reads the photos and videos in your phone's media library (and any folders you choose to give it access to) so it can:

All of this happens on your phone. We do not copy, upload or transmit your photos, videos, file names, file paths, fingerprints or thumbnails to any server we control. We don't sell data; we have no data to sell.

3. Permissions the app asks for, and why

You can turn any of these off in Settings → Apps → FreeGB → Permissions. The app tells you what it can't do without them.

4. Data we collect ourselves

None. We don't run a server for FreeGB, and there's no FreeGB account, sync or cloud backup. We don't collect your name, phone number, contacts, location, device identifiers, or any details of your photos, videos or email.

5. Gmail data (Google user data)

FreeGB has an optional Gmail cleaner. It stays off until you tap Connect Gmail and allow access on Google's own permission screen. It uses the Gmail API permission https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify, the only Gmail permission that lets an app move email to Gmail's Trash. FreeGB cannot permanently delete email with it.

What FreeGB reads

Only email metadata: the sender, subject line, date, size, Gmail labels (such as Promotions, Important or Starred) and the List-Unsubscribe header that mailing lists include. FreeGB never reads the text of an email or its attachments.

How it's used

Only to show you how much Google storage your email uses, group bulk mail (Promotions, Social, Updates and mailing lists), let you review emails, and, only when you select emails and confirm, move them to Gmail's Trash, where Gmail keeps them for 30 days so you can restore them. Starred emails are never included, and bulk actions skip emails Gmail marks Important. If you tap Unsubscribe on a mailing list and confirm, FreeGB sends that list's own unsubscribe request (from its List-Unsubscribe header), or opens its unsubscribe page for you to finish.

Where it's processed and stored

On your phone only. FreeGB talks directly to Google's Gmail API from your phone; we have no servers, and your email data never passes through or is stored by us. Email details are held in memory only while you use the cleaner. The only things saved on your phone are the address of the Gmail account you connected and the approximate total size and date of the last scan, so the app can show them on its home screen.

Sharing

FreeGB does not sell, share or transfer Gmail data to anyone. It is not used for advertising, not sent to our advertising or analytics partners, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and no person reads it. Analytics record only that a Gmail feature was used (for example "connect" or "unsubscribe"), never any email content, sender or address.

Your control

Tap Disconnect in the app at any time: FreeGB removes its access at Google and clears the saved account and totals from your phone. You can also remove access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling FreeGB deletes everything it saved on your phone.

Limited Use

FreeGB's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data collected by Google services we use

FreeGB includes a few well-known Google SDKs. Each collects a limited set of advertising or diagnostic data under Google's own privacy policies, which apply as well as this one. None of them receive your photos, videos, file names or email.

6.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

The app shows banner ads, may show an ad after a clean-up, and offers an optional video ad to turn off ads for 24 hours. AdMob may collect your advertising ID, general device information, IP address, ad interactions and an approximate region to serve ads and prevent fraud. See Google's advertising privacy policy. Where consent is required (EEA, UK, Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form before any personalised ad is requested, and you can change your choice later in the app.

6.2 Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)

If the app crashes, Crashlytics sends an anonymous report so we can fix it: the error details, phone model, Android version, app version and an automatically generated installation ID. It does not contain your photos, videos, file names, file contents or email. See Firebase's privacy information.

6.3 Google Analytics for Firebase (usage counts)

We count which screens are used and how many clean-ups succeed, so we can improve the app. Events are tied to an anonymous Firebase installation ID, not to you personally, and never include details of your photos, videos or email.

7. In-app purchases

FreeGB is free with ads and has no in-app purchases. If we add any, this policy will be updated first, and payments will be handled entirely by Google Play; we never see or store your payment details.

8. Children

FreeGB is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age where you live). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll act on it.

9. Your rights

Because FreeGB doesn't collect or store your personal data on any server of ours, there is no record for us to export or erase. You can:

If you live in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California or another region with data-protection laws, you can access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data that the Google SDKs collect through this app. Those requests are handled by the providers directly; see the links in section 6.

10. How long data is kept

We keep no user data on servers of our own because we run none. Data held by Google's SDKs is kept under their own retention rules (typically up to 14 months for advertising data and 90 days for crash reports).

11. International transfers

When Google's SDKs process the limited data described above, it may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under Google's own safeguards and contractual terms.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above always shows the latest change, and important changes are mentioned in the app's release notes.

13. Contact

For any question about this policy or how FreeGB handles data, email geddam.naidu@gmail.com.
